What we collect
- School email — to prove you go to the school and to send you a login code. We don’t use passwords.
- Birth year — to keep out anyone under 13. Nobody under 13 gets an account, and we don’t keep data from a refused registration.
- Your profile — display name, optional photo, optional mood line.
- What you do here — posts, comments, thumbs, gifts, chats, hearts in the matchmaker, poll votes, and a coarse “around / on the Wall / in a chat” status while you’re using the site.
- Invitations — if you joined through a friend’s link, we note who invited you so they get credit.
We don’t collect your location, contacts, or anything from other apps.
Who sees what
- Posts, comments, and your profile: members of your school only.
- Anonymous posts: shown as “someone” to schoolmates. On our side they stay tied to your account so bans and reports work.
- Chats: only the two people in them. Nobody else can see who you message.
- Matchmaker hearts and letters: nobody, unless it’s mutual — then only the two of you. One-way interest is never revealed.
- Polls: only people who opted in can appear in one.
- The founder can see the waitlist, reports, and member list to run the site.
We send login codes and, if you leave it on, one recap email a night. Turn the recap off any time from your profile. We never sell or share your email.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (database) and emails go out through Resend. The site is hosted on Netlify. None of them get to use your data for anything except running oldstreets.
Deleting your stuff
Delete a post from the wall and it’s gone. To delete your whole account and everything tied to it, email orionjones99@gmail.com from your school address and it’s done within a few days. Parents or guardians of a member under 18 can make the same request.
